Budgeting for a Little "Me Time"

"Happiness time".

It's good to take some time for yourself. To relax, enjoy, and rejuvenate. I'm all about some me time, but I'm still a student and I can't afford to go get massages or spend a day at the spa. I'm just fine with that. I have found ways that work for me so I'm able to relax and take some time to focus on me, to feel like new.

Here's a little play by play on how I go about my me time and what I got for it :)

1. Bath. Oh there's nothing better then taking a bath with hot water and just melting into the tub. Opening up my pores and basically falling asleep. I went to Walmart recently and found a new soap from the brand Softsoap. Mmmm it smells so good and it make my skin feel so soft! It's got me ready for Spring. They have two kinds. A hydrating shower cream and the exfoliating fruit polish. I got the fruit polish and its full of apricot seeds that exfoliate and help with a nice fresh glow :) I was ready to end with my me time right then :)

2. Candles. Don't forget to light some candles during the bath so help with that relaxation. I bought a new Spring scent to go along with my Spring smelling soap!

3. Tea. After my bath I made some tea. I made one called dragon-fruit devotion and it's my top favorite right now. It's so soothing and tastes amazing!

4. Chocolate. Chocolate is a must. I love me some dark chocolate and there's plenty of it around with Easter on the way.

5. Movie. Then to end the night I put on my favorite chick flick, "You've Got Mail." I'm really good at swooning over Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I've probably watched that movie 20+ times! It's so nice to curl up under my blanket after being relaxed from my bath and grab my tea and chocolate. Perfect me time.

Now everyone's preference to how they relax is different, but this is what works for me...and my wallet! What are some ways you relax and get me time?!

A True Love Story Never Ends

Happy February! January was great and I can't wait to conquer this month. I've got a lot to do and I feel it's going to be a good one :) I also want to thank Brittany for these way fun pictures. She brought me to this location and I just love the bright colors!

Valentine's Day is approaching next weekend. I wouldn't say I go all out for the holiday, but I do enjoy it. I love pink, I love watching cheesy chick flicks, and I'm definitely not opposed to chocolate. Even when I was single I loved hanging out with my girlfriends and doing all of those things. I'm also no expert in love, but I do like my sweatshirt and I know what my true love story is.

My true love story...

is about a girl from North Carolina and a handsome boy from Idaho.

and I believe
true love is all about WE.
I think true love is sacrifice.
I think true love has to have happiness.
I think with true love you see through faults.
In true love you feel lucky to be with that person.
With true love you bring out the best in each other,
and with true love the words 'I love you' are the best words ever.

My 6 Essentials for a Road Trip

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #DropShopAndOil #CollectiveBias

One of my favorite things to do is to get out of the "norm". As in my weekly, regular schedule. So I love going on road trips. A time to go do something fun, relax, or as I get out of the house! I always have my routine to getting ready for a road trip. The house has to be clean when we leave, the car needs to be taken care of, and I need to have my essentials.

I'm not going to lie, getting the oil changed can be such a pain. It really is the last thing I want to do, but let me let you in on a little secret. Go to Walmart to get your oil changed. Hitting two birds with one stone. While my car is being worked on, I go into Walmart to get my road trip essentials.

I didn't know much about getting my oil changed. I usually go for the cheapest, but the guys who worked there were so nice and helpful. We've got some miles on our car so they suggested getting the High Mileage Vehicle so that's what I did. They change it with Pennzoil products and the high mileage helps with oil leakage that can come with cars with high mileage. And the guys were so fun. very friendly and I honestly had a good time with them :)

Now what are my essentials??

1. Get a oil change! Of course. Since our car is getting up in the high miles we try to make sure we our on top of our oil changes, especially before a road trip.

2. Camera. I definitely have to document our trips. If you don't own a camera, during your oil change you can go grab a disposable from inside Walmart.

3. Car Games. We are a fan of mad libs. We've been close to tears with some of the funny mad lips that we've read. It makes the time go by fast! Something else to grab inside of Walmart :)

4. Fruit (snacks). Some yummy and healthy snacks for the trip. I love me some grapes.

5. Map. No one uses paper maps anymore...except my father in law ;) So we have our GPS, but I think it would be fun to use a paper map and then with a marker draw out your route and then keep it in a photo album or save it for another trip.

6. MUSIC. Gotta have my music. Dallin and I like to have our music playing, but we do have different tastes in music. We are usually pretty good at switching and sometimes in between we will play songs we both enjoy and belt out for the other cars to hear :)

What are some of your favorite road trip essentials?? Don't forget to stop by your local Walmart Automotive Center to update your car oil!

Dress and Boots

Sometimes life gets really busy and I have to put my blog on a little break and lately it has definitely been busy. This past weekend was really nice though. We were able to hang out with friends Friday and Saturday night, eating and playing games. Two of my favorite things :)

So last week I started a fitness program. Specifically called Bikini Body Guide by Kayla Itsines. It's a 12 week program and I'm stoked about it. It's not the easiest, but I have a few friends doing it as well so it's nice to have that motivation. I was going to the gym before, but never had a set routine I would do. Mainly ride the bike and some weights. After starting this I feel so much better about going to the gym. It's so exciting to me to be completing this and putting my full self into it. I'm not endorsing anything, but I just truly believe that if you put your mind to something it can be done!

Ok enough of my words of wisdom for the day. I actually took these pictures a couple months ago and I completely forgot about them. So yay for dresses and boots!

Update // Staying Warm

These weeks have seriously been flying by so fast. I can't believe that it is already the middle of January and the last time I posted was the end of December...sheesh. I wanted to give a little update on life recently and basically what has been going on :)

-Dallin and I are both back in school. Last semester! Woo!!

-I've challenged myself and I'm taking a yoga class. My first one! I love it so far.

-I got the Wii for not the U. The old one. Which I'm perfectly happy with and I love it so much. Mario Kart is a weakness for me.

-I've been making a lot of healthy things recently. To list some; homemade almond milk, granola, black bean and sweet potato enchiladas, and yummy soups...etc! I'm addicted!

-We've been going to the gym and I'm starting a 12 week work out plan, along with some other friends.

-I'm watching The Bachelor for the first time. I've seen a few episodes here and there, but this time I'm joining the crowd and watching it from the beginning.

-I cut my hair! 5 inches :)

- Dallin's sister comes home from her mission in less than a month!

-We still have our Christmas tree up...oops.

It's been pretty cold everywhere it seems like so stay warm with Aeropostale!!

That Green Smoothie Tho...

I don't ever say tho...though :)

Here I am drinking my green smoothie thinking about New Year's resolutions...oh wait I'm already eating healthy and it's not even the New Year yet! Double points for me!

Ok, ok... it's only because I know I'll be eating lemon meringue pie tonight and my dad made it for me. So really no double points for me. But hey it's better than nothing right??

I think back on this past year and wonder if I've grown any. I wonder if I have made any changes for the better. And well... I believe I have, but there is always room for improvement. For 2015 I don't want to just make resolutions, you know the things that will go on a list and sometimes stay there. I want to actually make personal changes that better me as a person and that can better people around me. And sometimes I think the best resolutions are to continue doing the things you're already glad you're doing.

LAST YEAR- We loved each other and went on dates.
THIS YEAR- I want to have more date nights, more spur of moment adventures, and overall more time together. To continue to grow in our marriage and improve in all aspects.

LAST YEAR- I would text my brothers every month or so to say hi.
THIS YEAR- I will call them to have full conversations with them to catch up.

LAST YEAR- I would tell my parents I love them.
THIS YEAR- I want to really let them know how much I appreciate them and how much they really mean to me.

LAST YEAR- I lost two of the most important people in my life.
THIS YEAR-I will continue to remember them and continue to let loved ones in my life know how much they mean to me. I don't want to regret time that was lost with any of my loved ones.

LAST YEAR- I spent some time with my mom.
THIS YEAR- I want to do even more things together. Things that she enjoys and things that I enjoy doing.

LAST YEAR-I drank green smoothies
THIS YEAR- I need to drink even MORE green smoothies and really try to better my body's health.

LAST YEAR-I made some really great friends.
THIS YEAR- I want to stay keeping in touch and continue making lifelong friendships with them.

LAST YEAR- I went to the gym some.
THIS YEAR- Pretty simple...I'm going to go more.

LAST YEAR- I cherished the beautiful things around me.
THIS YEAR- I want to keep cherishing and take more pictures of my surroundings.

LAST YEAR- Dallin took the MCAT.
THIS YEAR- He won't be taking the MCAT....

because THIS YEAR- he will be going to medical school. I want to really make the best of this year and embrace the new adventure that we will be going on!

So cheers to the New Year and to bettering ourselves!

Merry Christmas!

I wanted to wish y'all a Merry Christmas!

I have so much to be thankful for, especially my family and friends. As well as the most important reason for this season and that is Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It's important throughout the year, but Christmas is always a nice reminder. I hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Merry Christmas!
